Just for Fun Escape to New Zealand Book Four Rosalind James Books
I love all the Escape to New Zealand books but Just for Fun is my favorite among them. It’s a story about two people growing up, getting jaded, getting a second chance and then working together for a happily ever after.
We’ve all had that moment in our life when we just throw caution to the wind and let the consequences come as they may. For some of us though the consequences involve totally life altering changes like the ones that stay with us for the next 18 years.
Rosalind does a wonderful transition in the development of Emma from a flighty girl who has no idea what to do with her life to a responsible mother who digs deep within herself to provide a good life for her child. Emma’s emotional states are so engaging that even those without kids would be able to relate to her.
Athletes in general have been portrayed as testosterone driven irrational males that have the emotionally maturity fitting a teaspoon. The wonderful thing about how Nic is written is not just that he’s a hot rugby player but that he understands himself and others very well. Most hidden baby stories show a lot of the characters struggling to accept the consequences of their younger self but he jumps right into the role without any hesitation or self-recrimination, making him a gem among males. He also understood that even though he had been an absentee father for the beginning of his childs’ life, ultimately the best thing that he could ever give his son was his presence and not just the money that he could provide.
Zack also is written in a way that makes him a true 6 year old. From his love of legos and rugby to his favorite stuffed giraffe, Zack makes us all remember how wonderful it was, to once upon a time be 6.
Some books I’ve read then just end the story once the truth about the hidden baby is out but not this one. Just when you think it’s smooth sailing Rosalind throws in something that turns the story even more relatable to anyone who has dated someone who gets known. She shows us that a successful relationship takes a lot of hard work and faith in each and that to a happily ever after takes a lot of give and take from both parties.
I love love loveeeee this story.
Plus the hotness of rugby players. Enough said.

Just for Fun Escape to New Zealand Book Four Rosalind James Books Reviews
I got sucked into Rosalind James' "Rugby Romance" world simply because it was set in New Zealand. Then I realized there were some really hot rugby players. Who isn't impressed by the amazing Maori tattoos they sport? I've read the whole series in no particular order, starting with a Deal-of the Day somewhere, then realizing the whole series provides a wonderful tie-in through the All Blacks rugby team, but each story provides a nice standalone read. The women are strong, each in her own way, and somehow Rosalind James makes them simply come across as real women you would like to be friends with. The story of Emma and Nic is no different. I always thought that the "surprise" child from a chance, one-night stand/short fling was a pat story line. However James manages to show us the pride Emma has in raising her son alone, while not allowing her to come across as a martyr or bit&%, Emma had tried to to contact Nic and let him know he had a son. (Well yes, she could've tried harder, but that's the story, right? If she'd found him way back, we'd not be reading this.) I love when the math and Zack's rugby skills come together, and Nic realizes Zack is his son.
Rosalind James' Escape to New Zealand books have me watching the haka on YouTube, following the All Blacks rugby games online and trying to figure out how I'm getting to New Zealand. She paints such an amazing picture of the country, its people, its customs and its National Sport that I can't imagine not having another of her books to wait for! The only caveat if steamy, good-- I mean really good and well written-- sex "isn't your cuppa", then perhaps another series is in order. Yes, you can skip by the sex, but it really is wonderfully written, lacking the dreadful cliches and frighteningly worded visuals of some writer's sex scenes. As a non-romance fan, these rugby romances changed my tune and I highly recommend them! They're a travelogue with a twist!
First, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, THIS BOOK. OMG I loved this hero. I love the New Zealand books. These stories make you want to go there, watch a rugby game, see a rugby player, etc. OH my, if these characters could really exist. As reviewer 228,you have to know what this story is about by now. So I will just say that this is the best story I have read in a long time. and, I read a LOT. It was my kind of story. Two people coming together, working thru issues, and HEA. This hit on every point. The hero was so well written that you have to just love this guy. He is the way men should be. The heroine was strong, independent and fierce when she needed to be. She also had her moments of being late, having to take crap off of some people. I loved the way she stood up to her sister, refusing to listen to gossip and junk on social media. She remained true and had total belief in the man she loved.
I also LOVED that the hero putts his father in his place. Something he probably should have done years ago. We all know some jerk that thinks bullying and verbally abusing a child is the best way to motivate them. I loved that he set him straight and then the father sees the error of his ways. That was good.
Great story, I absolutely loved it and absolutely recommend it to anyone that likes a good romance, sexy love scenes and a happy ever after. Great read.
